- I have a Zoom 28.8 v34i, and use outside server. I understand that
- most telephone line have some line noise, and that controls data
- speed. But, I have the ability to see my connect speed at sign on and
- it varies from 19.2 to 26.4. I have called the site and they claim
- switching or line noise. I called the phone company and they will send
- a tech. out at $62 per hour to check the line, they say all is well on
- there internal checks. Is there a device that I can rent or borrow to
- check the sign on speeds, without taking my computer to incoming
- telephone box in basement, before calling the phone company. I had
- friend who had phone company out and they said line is fine, internal
- problem, your equipment of internal lines! Talking to phone company is
- like talking to a wall! Any suggestions! I can live with 26.4 but 19.2
- or 21.6 becomes a problem with long downloads! Thank you! jb
